This bill prohibits casino and sports wagering licensees, along with their employees, agents, and contracted operators, from advertising their gaming services on internet platforms and websites primarily used by children under 12 years old, including mobile applications. The legislation specifically bars these entities from posting, distributing, broadcasting, or otherwise making such advertisements viewable to the public on child-oriented platforms, as well as prevents them from sponsoring or financing such advertisements within the state. The Division of Gaming Enforcement is tasked with establishing rules and regulations to implement these restrictions, and is authorized to take legal action to enforce the prohibition. Importantly, the bill will go into effect 60 days after its enactment, providing a transition period for affected businesses to adjust their advertising practices. By targeting platforms primarily used by young children, the legislation aims to reduce exposure of gambling-related content to minors and protect them from potential gambling influences.
