This bill, effective July 1, 2026, aims to standardize the purchase and lease of government vehicles in Indiana. For political subdivisions, the bill mandates that purchased or leased vehicles must be government, base, or standard models and not from luxury brands if a non-luxury alternative exists on the same platform, also excluding short-term leases and specific emergency vehicles like fire apparatus and ambulances.
