By November 1, 2026, the department must submit its findings and recommendations to various legislative leaders and committee chairs. While the bill does not provide direct funding, the Department of Business and Economic Affairs estimates that completing the report may require either a temporary staff position or a third-party consultant, potentially costing up to $500,000. The bill will take effect 60 days after its passage, with the ultimate goal of encouraging more accessible and inclusive housing development for persons with disabilities.
