This bill amends Missouri state law to require limited liability companies (LLCs) that own rental or unoccupied real property in certain jurisdictions to file an affidavit with the local city or county clerk. Specifically, the bill expands existing requirements to include counties with over one million inhabitants (which would be St. Louis County), mandating that these LLCs provide the name and street address of at least one natural person who has management control and responsibility for the property. The LLC must file this initial affidavit and then submit a successor affidavit within 30 days if the designated management contact changes. No filing fee will be charged for these affidavits. If an LLC fails to file the required affidavit, the bill allows any adversely affected person, the county, or the home rule city to petition a circuit court to compel the LLC to file the document.
