The bill requires the Office of Management and Budget to establish guidelines for these disclaimers within 180 days of enactment. Federal officials and agencies must submit annual audits describing their compliance, and if AI-generated content is published without proper disclosure, they must retract it and issue a corrective communication. Penalties for non-compliance include potential disciplinary action for federal employees and contractors, such as contract termination or restrictions on public communication. The bill will take effect 90 days after its enactment, applying to the President, Vice President, and all federal agency employees.
