This bill establishes a committee composed of three members of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, appointed by the Speaker, to study ways to support the growth of businesses that create assistive technologies and to encourage the wider use of these technologies by New Hampshire residents. Assistive technologies are tools or devices that help people with disabilities perform tasks they might otherwise find difficult or impossible. The committee will identify benchmarks for increasing the use of these technologies, explore strategies for attracting assistive technology companies to the state, and conduct other necessary activities, including forming subcommittees. Legislative members will be reimbursed for mileage when performing committee duties, and the committee will elect a chairperson. A quorum will consist of two members, and the first meeting must occur within 45 days of the bill's passage. The committee is tasked with reporting its findings and legislative recommendations to various state officials and the state library by November 1, 2026.
