This bill, titled the Law Enforcement Officer and Firefighter Recreation Pass Act, amends the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act to provide a free annual National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass to eligible law enforcement officers and firefighters. A firefighter is defined as any federal, state, local, or tribal government employee whose work directly involves suppressing fires, including wildland fires. A law enforcement officer is defined as any federal, state, local, or tribal government official authorized by law or agency to prevent, detect, or investigate criminal law violations, or to supervise sentenced criminal offenders. The bill mandates that the Secretary of the Interior make this pass available at no cost to these individuals, as well as to members of the Armed Forces and their dependents, upon providing adequate proof of eligibility.
