This bill amends existing Oklahoma law regarding the unlawful carry of firearms to allow individuals to carry firearms on vessels on public lakes or waterways. The bill clarifies that this provision applies to individuals who are 21 years of age or older, or those who are 18 to 20 years old and are members or veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces or were honorably discharged, provided they are otherwise legally permitted to possess or purchase a firearm and are not carrying it to commit a crime. It also defines "vessel" as having the same meaning as in Section 4002 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes, which generally refers to a watercraft. The bill specifies an effective date of November 1, 2026.
