This bill modifies how gaming proceeds from sports wagering are distributed by amending existing Wyoming state law. Currently, sports wagering operators must remit 10% of their monthly online sports wagering revenue to the state commission. Under the new provisions, the first $300,000 of annual revenue will continue to be allocated to the department of health for county health programs focused on preventing and treating problematic gambling behavior. The bill then introduces a new split for the remaining funds: one-half will be deposited into the Wyoming Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Trust Fund Income Account, while the other half will be deposited into the state's general fund. This change aims to provide additional funding for outdoor recreation initiatives while maintaining a portion of the revenue in the state's general budget. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2026, giving stakeholders ample time to prepare for the new revenue allocation method.
