This resolution commends the Richlands Area Citizens for the Arts, an organization that for 44 years, and originally known as Community Artist Residency Training (CART), enriched cultural life in Southwest Virginia by promoting arts education and organizing a wide range of local arts programs and performances. Established in 1981 to attract artists and musicians to the region, CART, under the visionary leadership of Ginger H. Branton, hosted world-class exhibitions and musical acts, produced well-known theatre productions, and provided vital arts-in-education programming in schools throughout Tazewell County, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts in countless young people and offering the entire community unique opportunities to engage with the arts. The resolution acknowledges the organization's final season in 2025 and expresses the admiration of the Virginia General Assembly for its exceptional achievements, with copies to be presented to its executive director and president.
