The bill also updates language to use more gender-neutral terms like "individual" instead of "person" and "his or her," and modifies the existing definitions of who qualifies as a missing senior or vulnerable adult. The definition of a person familiar with the missing individual is broadened to include additional categories of people who might have knowledge of or responsibility for the missing person, such as those with healthcare power of attorney or who provide home health aid services. These changes aim to improve the state's ability to quickly respond to and track missing seniors, vulnerable adults, and veterans who may be at risk.
