This bill modifies the enrollment cap for Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs) in New Hampshire for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. Specifically, the bill sets the enrollment cap at 10,000 for those two years and establishes a mechanism for potential future expansion. If the total enrollment in a given year exceeds 90 percent of the previous year's cap, the enrollment limit will automatically increase by 25 percent for the subsequent year. The Department of Education will be required to publish the updated enrollment cap on its website when such an increase occurs. The bill will take effect 60 days after its passage. Education Freedom Accounts are a form of school choice program that provides public funding to families to use for educational expenses outside of traditional public school settings, such as private school tuition, homeschooling costs, or online education programs.
