This bill, known as the "STORE Act of 2025," aims to improve infrastructure for food banks, particularly those serving rural and underserved communities. It amends the Emergency Food Assistance Act of 1983 to allow grants to be distributed to state agencies for activities that safely and efficiently get food to people in need, including commodities from the Secretary of Agriculture and other sources. The bill also expands the types of entities eligible for these grants to include governmental and Tribal organizations, and it specifically mentions supporting expanded mobile and home delivery options, as well as assessments of outreach activities.
