The Forensic Services Trust Fund provision remains unchanged, continuing to require that its allocated fees be used for scientific evidence analysis in criminal investigations. The bill is set to take effect on October 1, 2026, providing ample time for sheriffs' offices to prepare for the expanded funding flexibility.
