This bill amends the Sex Offenders Registration Act to prohibit individuals required to register as sex offenders from being employed by businesses that primarily serve individuals under the age of 18, such as martial arts studios, dance studios, summer camps, tutoring services, youth sports venues, and other places where unsupervised access to minors is possible. Violating this prohibition would result in a misdemeanor for a first offense, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine, and a felony for subsequent offenses, punishable by up to four years in prison and a $2,000 fine. The bill also mandates that registered individuals be given written notice of these employment restrictions at the time of their initial registration and at each required verification.
