This bill establishes a system for the periodic review and potential expiration, known as "sunset," of permanent administrative rules created by various state agencies in Oklahoma. Specifically, it mandates that the permanent rules of a designated list of agencies will automatically expire on February 1st of specific years (2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030) and every four years thereafter, requiring these agencies to resubmit their rules to the Legislature for review. The Administrative Procedures Act, which governs how state agencies create and implement rules, is the framework under which these rules are adopted and reviewed. The Legislature can then choose to renew these rules for additional four-year periods through a joint resolution. This bill will become effective on November 1, 2026.
