This bill amends Utah law regarding alimony, which is financial support paid by one spouse to the other after a divorce. Key changes include clarifying that the "length of the marriage" for alimony purposes will generally exclude the time between a prior divorce and a subsequent remarriage between the same parties, provided the divorce petition for the later marriage is filed on or after January 1, 2026, and the court finds aggregating the marriages equitable.
