This bill modifies requirements for ambulance operators, allowing them to use blue lights under certain conditions and exempting them from some speed limits when responding to emergencies outside of city limits, provided they meet new qualifications outlined in Section 4. These qualifications require an ambulance operator to be at least eighteen years old, possess a driver's license, and either be licensed as emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, a firefighter, or a law enforcement officer, or complete approved training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and an emergency vehicle operator course. The bill also amends existing laws related to ambulance runs, the definition of EMS personnel, and the grounds for denying or revoking licenses for EMS personnel, while repealing a section related to reporting requirements for licensed individuals.
