This bill amends Utah law to remove the requirement for drivers to signal their intention to turn when entering or exiting a roundabout, a circular intersection where traffic flows in one direction around a central island. Previously, drivers were generally required to give an appropriate signal, either by hand or by using turn signals, for at least two seconds before turning or changing lanes, and this applied to all movements on the roadway. The bill specifies that this change takes effect on May 6, 2026, and clarifies that a violation of the remaining signaling requirements is considered an infraction, a minor offense.
