This resolution commends Austin Jin, Bryan Cheng, and Ellen Zhang, students from Great Neck South High School, for their pioneering effort in organizing New York State's first-ever student-led bone marrow registry drive on October 24, 2025. The drive, conducted in partnership with the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, aimed to educate students and staff about bone marrow donation, which can be a life-saving treatment for diseases like leukemia and lymphoma, and to add potential donors to the national registry. Through their initiative, which involved extensive planning, volunteer training, and outreach, over 45 new potential donors were added, demonstrating exceptional leadership, civic responsibility, and a commitment to public service.
