This bill requires circuit court clerks in Indiana to post copies of campaign finance reports, notices, and other related documents filed with county election boards online in a portable document format (like a PDF) within seven days of their due date or filing date, whichever is later, on either the clerk's or county election board's website, or the county's website if they don't have one. It also allows "covered persons," which are individuals whose home address might be included in these documents, to request that their home address be restricted from public access in what is defined as a "confidential document" (any document or database containing a covered person's home address). Counties, municipalities, and townships must establish processes to prevent the public from accessing a covered person's home address in these confidential documents, including redacting addresses from public records requests, and can charge a reasonable fee for processing these requests or name changes.
