This bill establishes a new special license plate for the Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana, which will be categorized as a "special group recognition license plate" under existing Indiana law. The bill amends current statutes to include this new plate option and creates a new chapter in Indiana Code dedicated to the "Epilepsy Foundation Trust License Plates." To obtain one of these plates, individuals must apply and pay specific fees, including an annual supplemental fee of $15 and another annual fee of up to $25. This latter fee will be deposited into a newly established "epilepsy foundation trust fund." The treasurer of state will invest the money in this fund, and any interest earned will also go into the fund. The bureau will administer the fund, and money from it will be distributed at least monthly to the Epilepsy Foundation Indiana, with any remaining funds not reverting to the state's general fund at the end of the fiscal year.
