This bill, relating to enforcing violations of court-imposed pretrial supervision conditions, amends existing law to allow pretrial supervision officers to directly file a motion with the Criminal Division of the court to review a defendant's pretrial supervision conditions if the defendant violates any conditions set by the court. Pretrial supervision is a program designed to help individuals awaiting trial comply with court orders, attend hearings, and reduce the likelihood of reoffending, and this change empowers officers to initiate a review process when violations occur, in addition to the existing options for prosecutors, defendants, or the court to request such a review. The bill also makes minor technical changes to the definition of "absconded" and specifies that the act takes effect on July 1, 2026.
