This bill updates Vermont's appliance efficiency standards to align with the latest federal regulations, specifically by changing the reference date for federal standards from January 19, 2017, to January 19, 2025, for most products. It also incorporates updated efficiency and water conservation standards for various appliances, including commercial dishwashers, fryers, hot-food holding cabinets, steam cookers, computers and monitors, faucets, showerheads, urinals, portable electric spas, residential ventilating fans, spray sprinkler bodies, water coolers, and uninterruptible power supplies, by referencing specific ENERGY STAR program requirements, California Code of Regulations (C.C.R.), or other recognized industry standards. The bill also allows the Commissioner to adopt official interpretations of these standards and specifies that these changes will take effect on July 1, 2026.
