This bill requires licensed firearm dealers, which are individuals holding a federal license to sell firearms, to accept the return of a firearm from a consumer within three days of purchase if the firearm is in a "faulty condition." A faulty condition is defined as something that significantly harms the firearm's use, value, or safety, and which arises from normal use, not from abuse, neglect, unauthorized modifications, or accidents after the consumer receives the firearm. If the faulty firearm is available, the dealer must exchange it for another of the same make and model. For conditions that cannot be safely demonstrated at the dealer's location, the consumer must provide video proof of the fault when returning the firearm. This law is set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
