This concurrent resolution reestablishes the Aviation Economic Development Task Force to continue the work of a previous task force that studied Kentucky's aviation industry and emerging technologies. The new task force will focus on innovations in aviation, particularly in the area of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), which refers to new forms of air transport like drones and air taxis that can be used for emergency medical services, cargo, and passenger transport. It will also examine how other states are supporting the AAM industry, identify Kentucky's strengths and weaknesses in attracting aviation-related economic development, and recommend policies to foster aviation growth. The task force will consist of eight legislative members, four from the House and four from the Senate, and is required to meet at least four times during the 2026 Interim, submitting its findings and recommendations by December 1, 2026. The Legislative Research Commission, a body that supports the General Assembly, has the authority to assign these issues to another committee or set a different completion date.
