This bill amends the Community-Integrated Living Arrangements Licensure and Certification Act to ensure that providers of these living arrangements receive full per diem reimbursement for up to 20 days of a resident's medical absence if the resident is determined by third-party medical personnel to be unable to return to the arrangement or if the resident passes away during that absence. A "medical absence" is defined as a temporary departure from the living arrangement for medical treatment or other medically recommended reasons, such as hospitalization or rehabilitation, with the provider expected to hold the resident's bed during this period. This change aims to provide financial stability for providers in these difficult circumstances.
