Kratom is defined as the plant Mitragyna speciosa native to Southeast Asia and products derived from its leaves marketed as herbal supplements, while 7-hydroxymitragynine is identified as a naturally occurring psychoactive compound found in the kratom plant. Violators will face civil penalties, with a maximum of $500 for a first offense and up to $1,000 for subsequent offenses.
