This bill modifies the procedures for filling vacancies on municipal executive committees, which are local party organizations responsible for managing primary elections. Specifically, if a vacancy occurs on a municipal executive committee within ninety days of a municipal primary election, the State Executive Committee, a higher-level party organization, will now be responsible for filling that vacancy. Furthermore, any individual appointed to a municipal executive committee by the State Executive Committee will serve in that role until the next regularly scheduled election for executive committee members. The bill also brings forward existing sections of Mississippi law concerning municipal primary elections and the formation of temporary municipal executive committees for potential future amendments.
