This bill, effective July 1, 2026, makes it a Class A misdemeanor for a person operating a massage establishment to knowingly or intentionally employ an individual who provides massages and lacks specific professional liability insurance, which requires a minimum coverage of two million dollars per claim and six million dollars in total. A "massage establishment" is defined as a facility where massage therapy is provided, excluding offices of licensed healthcare practitioners, public lodging establishments, and the private residence of a sole massage therapist.
