This bill directs the State Board of Health to establish a supplemental payment program for qualified volunteer emergency medical services (EMS) agencies. This program aims to cover the difference between the actual costs incurred by these agencies for ground emergency medical services vehicle transport and the reimbursement they receive from the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) and any other sources. To be eligible, a volunteer EMS agency must be enrolled as a Medicaid provider with an active agreement and provide ground emergency medical transport to Medicaid members. The total reimbursement, including the supplemental payment, will not exceed 100 percent of the agency's actual costs for providing these services to Medicaid members.
