This bill authorizes pharmacists in Mississippi to dispense ivermectin, a medication, without a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider, provided they follow standardized procedures and protocols established by the State Board of Pharmacy, which may include providing instructions on proper use. Furthermore, pharmacists who dispense ivermectin in a reasonably prudent manner according to these guidelines are protected from criminal charges, civil lawsuits, and professional disciplinary actions. The State Board of Pharmacy is empowered to create the necessary rules to put this law into effect, which will become active on July 1, 2026.
