This bill amends existing state law to grant natural resources districts, which are local government entities responsible for managing natural resources, the authority to establish or participate in programs focused on improving water quality, managing water quantity, and promoting soil health practices. These programs can include conducting demonstration projects, similar to those already permitted, and hosting educational events for both agricultural producers and the general public. To facilitate these efforts, natural resources districts are authorized to enter into agreements with a wide range of partners, including agricultural producers, non-profit organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies, thereby expanding their capacity to protect and preserve the state's natural resources.
