This joint resolution continues the Joint Subcommittee on Recurrent Flooding for an additional year, through the 2027 interim, to further study and recommend strategies for minimizing the impact of various types of flooding, including coastal, riverine, and stormwater flooding, which have been identified as significant concerns for Virginia. The subcommittee, which has been studying this issue since 2012, will have its membership adjusted and will be limited to four meetings for the 2027 interim with a budget of $17,440, though additional funding or meeting extensions can be approved by the Joint Rules Committee. The subcommittee is tasked with recommending both short-term and long-term strategies and must submit an executive summary of its findings and recommendations by the first day of the 2028 Regular Session of the General Assembly.
