This bill amends Mississippi Code Section 27-19-56.549 to authorize the issuance of distinctive motor vehicle license tags to supporters of Eagle Home School, Inc., adding it to a list of existing organizations and institutions that can have such specialized plates. These distinctive license tags, which are special plates that identify a vehicle owner as a supporter of a particular organization, can be obtained by any Mississippi resident who pays the standard vehicle registration fees and an additional $30 fee. This additional fee is distributed among the beneficiary organization, the Mississippi Burn Care Fund, the State Highway Fund for road maintenance, and another special fund, with a portion also retained by the county tax collector. The bill also specifies that a regular license plate must be surrendered upon receiving the distinctive plate and outlines procedures for replacement in case of loss or theft. This change will take effect on July 1, 2026.
