If there isn't enough money in the fund to cover all the valid claims, the Nebraska State Patrol would distribute the available funds proportionally based on the amount of loss each victim suffered. The bill also clarifies that money in the fund remains there for a specific period to allow for claims to be processed before any remaining funds are sent to the State Treasurer.
