This bill amends a Kentucky law (KRS 230.817) that governs the sports wagering administration fund, which is a dedicated account for money collected from sports betting. Currently, a portion of the money in this fund is directed to the permanent pension fund. This bill proposes to change that by redirecting 2.5% of the funds from the permanent pension fund to the Kentucky lottery trust account, which is a separate fund established for lottery-related purposes. The bill also clarifies that the remaining funds in the sports wagering administration fund, after allocations for the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation and the problem gambling assistance account, will now go to the Kentucky lottery trust account instead of the permanent pension fund.
