This bill amends Kentucky law to restrict eligibility for mandatory reentry supervision, a program that allows inmates to transition back into society under supervision before their full sentence is complete. Specifically, an inmate will no longer qualify for this supervision if they have been convicted of two or more offenses that classify them as a violent offender, as defined by KRS 439.3401, or if they have previously been sent back to prison for violating probation, shock probation, parole, or conditional discharge. The bill also requires the Department of Corrections to provide an annual report on the outcomes of the mandatory reentry supervision program to the relevant legislative committees by February 1st of each year.
