The Director of the U.S. Secret Service will provide guidance to LEAs on preparing notices for parents about purchasing and using gun safety devices, including recommendations on device size and information about a tax credit. These notices must then be distributed to parents of children attending schools served by the LEA. Finally, the bill encourages states to develop standardized training programs for school resource officers and expands the social media outreach of SchoolSafety.gov to include information on gun safety notices.
