This bill, titled the "Nutrition Administration Assistance Act of 2026," aims to provide additional funding to states for the administrative costs of several important nutrition programs. Specifically, it directs that 70% of the funds appropriated under Section 3 will go to states for administering the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which provides food assistance to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age six, as well as to certain elderly individuals. Additionally, 20% of these funds will be allocated to states for administering the Emergency Food Assistance Act of 1983, which provides food to low-income individuals, including the elderly, through food banks and other local agencies. Finally, 10% of the appropriated funds will be provided to states for administering the Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, which offers fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables to seniors with low incomes. The bill authorizes $1,000,000 to be appropriated annually for these purposes through fiscal year 2030.
