This bill amends the Municipal Density and Missing Middle Housing Act by changing the reporting requirements for cities. Previously, cities were required to submit a detailed report every two years to the Urban Affairs Committee of the Legislature about their efforts to address affordable housing availability and incentives through zoning codes, ordinances, and regulations. This report included information on zoning for multifamily and middle housing, new construction, annexed units, housing costs, density bonuses, accessory dwelling units, affordable housing incentives, substandard and blighted areas, demographic analysis, and the number of multifamily housing units constructed and their accessibility features. The bill removes the requirement for cities to report on the number of multifamily housing units constructed and their accessibility features, and instead adds a requirement for cities to report on their efforts to adopt or implement an affordable housing action plan. The original section detailing the previous reporting requirements is repealed.
