This bill amends the Mechanical Amusement Device Tax Act by adjusting fees for manufacturer and distributor licenses and for cash devices, and also modifies occupation taxes for mechanical amusement devices that are not cash devices. Specifically, it changes the biennial license fee for distributors of cash devices, with a portion of these fees now going to the Department of Revenue Enforcement Fund. The bill also updates the application fees and annual decal fees for manufacturers and distributors of cash devices, with these fees increasing over time and being adjusted for inflation annually starting in 2028, and these collected fees will also be credited to the Department of Revenue Enforcement Fund. Additionally, the occupation tax for mechanical amusement devices that are not cash devices will increase in 2027 and then be adjusted for inflation annually thereafter, with 20% of these collected taxes going to the Department of Revenue Enforcement Fund and 80% to the General Fund. The bill also repeals the original sections of law that are being amended.
