This bill amends environmental conservation law to clarify that any assignment, transfer, or modification of existing leases for exploring, developing, or producing gas or oil in state forests, reforestation areas, wildlife management areas, and unique areas, which were in effect before a specific 2025 law, will not permit an increase in the leased land, the expansion or drilling of new wells, or the construction of new infrastructure beyond well-plugging and cleanup activities. Furthermore, these existing leases will not be continued or renewed upon their expiration.
