This bill requires entities managing state-owned lands to consider leasing portions of that land for cattle grazing when they are developing or updating their land management plans. If suitable areas are identified, they must be included in the plan, and the land managing entity must allow these leases to occur; if no areas are deemed suitable, the plan must explain why. This provision applies to land management plans developed or updated on or after July 1, 2026, which is also the effective date of the act. The bill amends section 253.034 of Florida Statutes, which governs the uses of state-owned lands, by adding a new requirement to the planning process for nonconservation lands.
