This resolution amends Senate Rule 65 of the Mississippi State Senate to allow for the removal of Senators who serve on the Rules Committee. Specifically, it adds a provision that a Senator representing a congressional district on the Rules Committee can be removed at any time by a caucus vote of at least three-fourths of the Senators from their respective congressional district. The Rules Committee itself is responsible for various administrative and operational functions of the Senate, including managing the Capitol space, assigning staff, overseeing the hiring and salaries of Senate personnel, and handling questions of improper conduct by Senators.
