This bill amends Arizona law regarding aggravated criminal damage, specifically focusing on actions related to utility infrastructure and property. It expands the definition of aggravated criminal damage to include intentionally or recklessly interfering with or preventing the normal function of any utility infrastructure or property, or the intended course or path of any utility service, in addition to existing provisions about damaging or tampering with utility or agricultural infrastructure for the purpose of obtaining nonferrous metals. The bill also clarifies that when calculating the amount of damage, the cost of the loss of utility service should be included, alongside costs for repair, replacement, loss of crops and livestock, labor, materials, and equipment used to abate or repair damage.
