This bill appropriates $300,000 annually for three fiscal years (2026-2027, 2027-2028, and 2028-2029) from the state general fund to the Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS). These funds are intended to be granted to an organization within Arizona that has experience with telementoring programs, expertise in dementia detection, diagnosis, and care management, and the ability to serve the entire state. The purpose of this grant is to establish a dementia care telementoring program, which will use virtual connections to share information and best practices about dementia care with healthcare providers, with a particular focus on improving education in rural and underserved areas. The program will offer virtual case-based sessions, continuing education credits, and will require the recipient organization to report on participation and outcomes. DHS will then publish an annual summary report of this program, which is set to be repealed after December 31, 2029.
