This bill authorizes the State Board of Examiners for Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Music Therapists to issue a limited license to practice music therapy, which is defined as the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to achieve therapeutic goals for individuals. This limited license is intended to allow individuals to practice music therapy while they complete the remaining requirements for a full license, such as passing an examination, and requires that the holder practice under the direct supervision of a fully licensed music therapist. The limited license is valid for one year and can be renewed once for an additional year, with a requirement to wait a year before reapplying for another limited license if a full license is not obtained within two years.
