This bill, known as the Longevity Ready Maryland Act, designates the Secretary of Aging to lead the implementation of the Longevity Ready Maryland Plan, a comprehensive strategy to address the growing population of older adults in the state by transforming programs, services, policies, institutions, and systems. Furthermore, it modifies the composition and responsibilities of the Commission on Aging, ensuring the Department of Aging provides staff support for the Commission, and establishes reporting requirements for the Secretary to detail the progress of the Longevity Ready Maryland Plan and provide updated versions of the plan every four years.
