This bill mandates that the Board of Community College Trustees for Prince George's County, in collaboration with various state and county entities including the Department of Commerce and the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation, establish an Aerospace Technology Studies Program at Prince George's Community College. The program's curriculum will be developed with input from industry experts and will cover areas such as aerospace systems technology, avionics and electronics, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence in aerospace. It will also offer workforce-based learning opportunities like internships and apprenticeships, and create a pathway from high school to college and careers in aerospace technology. Furthermore, the Board is required to form formal industry partnerships with at least one aerospace and technology employer in Prince George's County through Memoranda of Understanding. The establishment of this program is contingent on approval by the Commission, and the Board must submit annual reports to various state and county officials detailing the program's establishment status and, after its launch, its industry placement and outcomes. This Act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
